Meet Your Psychiatric Provider

Ryan Volk, PAC, MHA

I'm a board-certified Physician Assistant dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care through secure telehealth visits across California. I understand that seeking mental health treatment can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a welcoming, respectful environment where every patient feels heard, understood, and involved in their care.

I believe that no two people experience mental health the same way. Every treatment plan is personalized to your unique goals, symptoms, and circumstances. Together, we'll develop a thoughtful plan that supports both your immediate concerns and your long-term well-being.

My Approach to Care

My philosophy is to prescribe the lowest effective dose of medication while minimizing the number of medications needed to help you achieve and maintain symptom stability. When appropriate, I incorporate lifestyle modifications, therapy recommendations, and medication management to create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your needs.

I focus on evidence-based psychiatric care using FDA-approved, non-controlled medications and emphasize ongoing collaboration, education, and regular follow-up so that treatment continues to meet your goals over time.

A Thoughtful Approach to Medication

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation
$100.00

Your first appointment provides an opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of your mental health concerns and determine an appropriate treatment plan.

Your evaluation may include discussion of:

  • Current symptoms and concerns

  • Mental health history

  • Medical history

  • Current and previous medications

  • Previous psychiatric treatment

  • Family history when relevant

  • Lifestyle and environmental factors

  • Treatment goals

Following the evaluation, we'll discuss recommendations and determine whether medication or other treatment strategies may be appropriate.

An initial evaluation does not guarantee that medication will be prescribed. Treatment recommendations are based on individual clinical assessment.

Follow-Up Appointment
$75.00

Follow-up appointments allow us to evaluate how treatment is working and make adjustments when appropriate.

During follow-up visits, we may discuss:

  • Changes in symptoms

  • Medication effectiveness

  • Potential side effects

  • Medication adherence

  • Changes in medical history or other medications

  • Lifestyle factors affecting mental health

  • Progress toward treatment goals

Medications may be continued, adjusted, tapered, or discontinued when clinically appropriate.

The frequency of follow-up appointments is individualized according to your symptoms, medication regimen, treatment response, and clinical needs.

3-Month Medication Management
$50.00

Some established patients who have achieved sustained symptom stability on their current medication regimen may be appropriate for less frequent follow-up appointments.

For eligible patients, a three-month medication management appointment provides continued monitoring and prescription management while maintaining appropriate clinical oversight.

This service may be appropriate when:

  • You are an established Rise Psychiatry patient.

  • Your symptoms are stable.

  • Your current medication regimen is working well.

  • You are tolerating your medications without significant concerns.

  • No significant medication changes are needed.

  • Your provider determines that three-month follow-up is clinically appropriate.

Eligibility is determined individually. Not every medication or clinical situation is appropriate for three-month follow-up intervals.
